electrical query?

my shower has no double pole switch as it has been wired directly from the consumer unit therefore the neon is on 24/7 unless the fuse is pulled.can anyone settle an argument between myself and flatmate that this is costing us alot more than it would with a switch? thankyou

Paul - would you care to explain why a means of local isolation is needed? I grant you it's good practice, but that's not the same as saying that not having one makes the installation incorrect, or that one is required to satisfy a test certificate.

Which regulation(s) back up your claim?

you must have a switch close to the shower with a string if you feel a thingle you can pull it and turn it off if this is not their you may be shocked with a trip for a shower

A neon indicator doesn't use a significant amount of juice, Tess - you'd never notice the difference in your bills!
