Neff U1721 keeps tripping power circuit?

Neff U1721 double oven started to trip main consumer unit and lower oven element stopped working, but fan and light ok.

Have replaced element which now heats up, but still trips CU after about 30 seconds.

Top oven/grill works ok still along with clock etc. without tripping. Lower oven light works ok until temperature knob turned on. All visible wiring looks ok including to rear of oven and to switch panel. I think I can just see some connections along the left hand side panel but haven't accessed them without removing side panel and I can't see clearly for insulation, although there may be some scorching.

The question is what connections are down the side and is removing the side reasonably easy. I don't want to take the thing to bits if there's nothing down there.

Are there any sites with tech literature or photos of opened up units, exploded view drawings etc? Any ideas or help most welcome.

could be moisture in the new eliment, disconect the earth wire from the eliment and let it heat up for a few mins (20mins). if it seams ok reconect the eart when cool

The grill, lights and clock etc all seem to work ok. I initially put a mains tester on the old oven element contacts with it switched on, (ie before removing it) and got live on live side and nothing on the neutral side and assumed the element was broken internally.

I'm ok with simple replcement and renewal jobs but you're right - I think we need to get the thing tested by a more competent person. I will post what happens.

Thanx so far.

i personally would recommend that you get in touch with an approved electrician who carries out Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T) this will ensure that you have no blatant short internal short circuit or earth leakage.
you said that you've changed your element? was this due to you knowing that it was faulty or through process of eliminaton?

i personally believe that you have got an internal short circuit somewhere within your appliance.
when u removed to replace the element did you attempt to put power to the oven? thus proving the element was or was not at fault
