singer 507?

Having problems with the material not sliding under the foot. It seems to be clamping down onto the material and holding it too much. Tried allsorts, can u help?

Not sure how differant the 507 and my 513 are, but if you look underneath there should be set screws you can loosen( on a shaft that controls the up and down movement of the teeth) and adjust teeth height and then reset screws. Do this with the needle in the up position as you want the teeth in their high point with the needle up and out of the material. Hope this helps

Either there is too much pressure on the foot, or the stitch length is not set properly, usually about 4, or at the very extreme the teeth are set too high, the way to check the pressure on the foot is too put some fabric underneath and you should barely be able to pull the fabric through.
