Mend Singer Sewing Machine Repair Foot Pedal

How to mend an old Singer, foot pedal?

my machine has sudenlly started to go ons it own, without presure from the pedal. This machine is a very good Singer but it is about 43 years old. Please help me because I am very attach to this machine.

Hello Paula,
Undo the foot control and take out the suppressor which will be a round or silver thing attached to the wires and discard it, you don't need it any more.
