Mend Cistern Inlet Toilet

cistern inlet pipe, little plastic connector split?

hello,

i have just tiled under my toilet, which meant raising the toilet by half an inch or so. in doing so, i have created a leak. the problem is the little plastic connector that connects the flexible silver pipe to the underside of the cistern. the connector has a little split and thus is leaking.

does anyone know where i can get a replacement ? and are these usually one size fits all or do they come in different sizes ? and also, im calling it 'little plastic connector', does it have a proper name ?

thanks !

thanks for being the only one to reply but you were incorrect in saying it was part of the inlet valve.

the little plastic connector was in fact....a little plastic connector. it takes a 22mm thread down to a 15mm thread. this was split. i replaced it with a £1.50 metal equivalent from b&q and put some ptfe tape around it, and all is good.

If it's the threaded part the 'Flexi pipe' [the silver pipe] is fitted to as you say then afraid its replacement time for the inlet valve as it's part of the body of the valve.

Turn off the water in Remove the complete inlet assembly and go to plumbing store ask or look for a 'bottom feed valve assembly' to match what you have or near it. Also worth thinking of changing the 'Flexi pipe' for one with check [turn off] valve if not already fitted. Don't bother trying a repair its a waste of time and will not work.
