Mend Optima XL6 Alarm System Power Failure Reset

how can i set my optima xl6 home alarm?

The alarm was working until we had a power failure. When the electric was restored the alarm would not set. When I put the code in, it continues to bleep but will not set. I've pressed the 'reset' button but to no avail.
