Zanussi Electrolux Fridge freezer. Fridge not cold enough?

hi,i also have a zanussi fridge/freezer.its 14 months old and fridge stopped working twice.consumer rights people want me to get an independent maintenance person out to tell me what problem is and then take it up with retailer.have contacted zanussi head office and they offer very little help.it is crap.

My Zanussi fridge freezer (not frost free) also has fridge not cold enough, compressor runs continuously. It has been defrosted but ice builds up in the fridge, which stays at 7 deg C whilst the freezer is minus 30C. Its not the thermostat, so it must be a defect in the refrigeration system. Its only 3 years old. I have tried the Zanussi website who haven't replied. I won't buy Zanussi again.

All this is very interesting as I bought aZanussi frost free fridge freezer last week and sure enough it isn't working. in the week I have had it we have only had it working for at most one dayout of the week.Turning it off and then on again after a few hours works but only for a few hours then back to square one.

Got a 3 year old Electrolux f/f with drinks dispenser, the thing has worked well for about 3 years and then the fridge started to warm up with the freezer working OK. The freezer had the tendancy to drop to -22 when set at - 18 and the fridge got to +12. After looking at various sites and spending 3 hours trying to strip it down, I just allowed it to thaw out and then plugged it in again, hey presto works fine, not sure for how long but it works well at the moment. Worth a try !!

i hsve got the same problem freezer ok but fridge not working even switched it off for 3 days still dint work so its got to be the fan motor. what a rubbish fridge will never buy a zanussi again what a rip off

I have had the same problem with 2 of these. I think they have a faulty system and all I have had to do is buy another one.

please i ask this question but dont knw where to get the answer;please, my question is i have one of your products zanussi fridge freezer and sometimes cuts in operation and find it difficult to come back.i will wait for sometime and switch it on, it try to come on and then stops, this continues and now tired but love the product.please kindly help me solve this problem.

just bought frost free freezer and it won't get cold any suggestions after being turned on for a while starts to bleep not sure what to do with the buttons

I have resorted to using fridge as a drinks cabinet and freezer as it is, as its good and had to buy another fridge for everything else
i wont buy a Zanussi fridge freezer again .

Does anyone know how to disable fridge part altogether so it doesnt keep beeping every few hours ?

I have this problem with my Zanussi frost free fridge freezer. I have just had advice from a fridge repair man that with frost free fridge freezers a fan blows cool air into the fridge and over a period of time maybe 1 to 3 years a block of ice forms in the freezer. This is because it never defrosts enough and this ice prevents the flow of cool air to keep the fridge cold. He suggested turning it off for 24 hours allowing the block to thaw then turning it on again. After about 5 hours the fridge temp should drop. Failing that it could be the fan that moves the cold air from freezer to fridge.

Zanussi fridge freezers have a poor record of failing fridges. Service engineers admit this. You are unlikely to have this matter resolved . Advice is to contact your local Trading Standards dept, re:sale of goods act 1979 which entitles you to 5 good years on white goods. The responsibility is with whoever sold you the FF
