Mend Hotpoint 8496 Freezer Fridge Temperature Control

Can I still get User instructions for Hotpoint Mistral Plus model 8496?

The fridge/freezer motor appears to be running continuously with only very brief periods of quiet. Is this normal for a frost free machine? The fridge gets very cold and actually freezes the contents in lower fridge compartments but doesn't appear to respond to fridge temperature control.

It would help if I had some user instructions to understand its functions. Is it still possible to obtain User instructions. Sometimes when the fridge door is opened the appliance goes quiet but resumes when closed. The noises vary between fan-like and compressor noises. What's going on?

Thanks aa. I have now got a copy of the User's Manual and if it helps others, here's how I eventually got there.

I had initially tried to find the Hotpoint website without success being inundated with Hotpoint sales sites. Eventually I found that Hotpoint is in fact made by Indesit. Whilst no specific support link exists, I Emailed Indesit Customer Services on : www.theservicecentre@indesitcompany.com
Who very kindly promptly replied with a Manual in Acrobat format.

Could I suggest to 'howtomendit' webmaster that a link to manufacturer's service websites would be a very useful addition.

sounds like the stat is duff if you go to hotpoints site you should be able to download the instructions
