How can I fix my Simpson washing machine model 605 6kg top washer?

Unplug the machine, open the control panel, find the 2 white wires coming up under the main power wire, snip off, join 2 wires together with insulated wire joiner, reassemble. Remove the sensor wire from under the left side of the washer and replace as soon as possible. Machine will now operate with the lid open so take extreme care.

Try adjusting the lid switch mechanism. Open the lid, put your hand through the gap between the top deck & the top of the bowl on the right hand side at the rear. Feel around until you find the mechanism which will have a small plastic adjustment knob. Turn it clockwise about 1 - 2 full turns. Then try closing lid & see if the machine runs.
