Hello Sean. Just need to know what you mean by bad steering. I would assume that it is either heavy or excessive play in the steering box.
If you want to move away from the original it is very possible to fit an aftermarket power steering kit which work quite successfully but it costs £250+ plus fitting.
Our newer trators all have power steering and when I get back on our trusty old MF135 I realise just how heavy it is. I overhauled the stub axle swivels recently when we did the front trunnion bush and it has made little difference so we will look to rebuild the steering box to reduce the play.
In short, my memory is that our MF135 always has heavy steering and especially when we had one with a loader fitted.
It may seem obvious but we did mention to anybody new to the tractor to make sure they had some decent motion when trying to make significant turns, turning the steering when at very low speed is very very heavy as you know.
Let me know exactly what your problem is and we will certainly have some suggestions.
Cheers
Stew
