how can i get abs light to go off on 1999 ford escort?

if the a b s light is staying on when the car is running there is obviousley a problem with the a b s system as there are many sensors valves & control units the only way to find out whats wrong is to have it plugged in to a diagnostic machine which will identiy where the fault lies when an a b s system detects a problem it disables the system untill the fault is rectified although the normal braking system funtions normally as the a b s system is an important safety system on any car it would be advisable to get the fault repaired a s a p
