Clio immobiliser fault?

I too have been having problems with the immobiliser. I've only had one key working for the last 9 years and in the past couple of weeks the immobiliser has been playing up and I can't always start the car. The red light flashes rapidly and the engine won't turn over.
I had a ecu 'programmed' and that didn't work - in fact the car was completely useless. I've now had the bypass unit from remote key and while I now have 2 working keys to my car there is still an intermittent fault with the immobiliser.
As far as I'm aware the sunroof is not leaking - the one on my Ford did and it was like an indoor swimming pool inside the car - there is no evidence of damp in my Clio.
I've had the car from new and it is now 13 years old and apart from the immobiliser fault the car is running well.
Any thoughts/ideas?

Ford Clio Vehicles, Cars Fault Working Couple

If anyone else has this problem with their clio immobiliser and comes across this threat DO NOT despair. My 13 yr old clio did not have to go to the scrapyard.

I had the immobiliser removed from the car and that plus the 2 keys were sent to Autotronics: first class post on the Monday and returned and fitted to the car by lunch time Thursday. Given the car had been off the road for a couple of weeks this was of only minor inconvenience and at what I considered to be a reasonable price: less than £100.

A 13 yr old clio is basically worthless and as long as you are happy with it and it`s small faults then carry on,maybe next time you buy a motor stay away from Renaults and you will save yourself some headaches,just look on this site the problems associated with them.
