Mend Smeg Broken Door Machine

can we fix the broken door opener spring on our d/washer, Smeg dwf614?

the spring has broken and although it doesn't affect the machine it looks awful if not in correct position. Is it a diy job if I can get the spring??and will the opening of the facia cause more problems?
