how long to diagnose crankcase sensor using computer?

If it's a hard fault the diagnostics would pick it up in milli-seconds, an intermittant fault might take an engine run or a drive with the diagnostics connected either way it should'nt be more than 1 hr if it takes longer the person does'nt know what he/she is doing, when you say "crankcase sensor" I would take a guess that you mean "crankshaft sensor" or even "camshaft sensor" either way you can quickly select the diagnostics to look at the named sensor and very quickly you would see if it is putting out the correct signals,

I would guess the computer might take as long as .003 seconds to get the data - analyse it and produce a result - Printing it out might take a further six seconds. Setting up might take an hour or two - I really don't know - A day and a half suggests the person doing the job was working excceding slow. I would guess a couple of hours to be reasonable - I know more about computers than I do about cars. If they're charging you for 12 hours work they're avin' a larf. Even if it really did take that long the engineer would not have been watching it - he would have been working on another job!

If the work was to test diagnose and then REPAIR then that's another matter.

some fault codes can be read straight from the ecu memory within seconds of connecting it to a diagnostic system.intermittent issues are the problem ones and can take time to diagnose.No real answer to this question.Its down to trust
