Why doesnt the radio hold the memory?

There should be a 'permanent' supply feed wire that should be connected seperate to the ignition switch.It looks like this wire has been connected via the ignition switch.I don't know what colour the wire will be,but i'm sure a repituble car repairer will be able to help.Once the wire/s are connected correctly it should solve the problem...Hope this helps......Gordon
