Proform 680 only runs for 2 seconds?

I just received a proform XP 680 from someone. I plug it in and the screen works just fine as well as the incline. When I press start, it shuts down within 2-3 seconds. It will start right up again but do the same thing. Also, when I press start, it seems to suck some major power and the lights in my house dim and actually blew a fuse once. Anyone have any ideas on this? :(
