can i repair my combo window winder?

my 03 combo vans drivers window winds down and drops down at the front runner. had some one to look at it but says runner is bent and welded to the door so cant replace.do i have to buy a new door to fix it.surely there must be a way of repairing it.it will come down 3 or 4 inches but after that its ver stiff to get back up.when it dropped i had to hold the glass toward back runner and wind up at same time.
