How do I fix a Morphy Richards trouser press?

I have a Morphy Richards trouser press which seems not to function at all. MR, however, no longer make trouser presses and I'm having no luck finding a repair shop (I'm in Edinburgh). Any advice or help on how to fix it myself or where I might get it fixed would be much appreciated.
