How can i fix my rev counter on my car

There's a wee grey wire with a broad palstic clip that attaches to your alternator. Give it a good clean and reattach. My rev counter needle was bouncing around and then stopped working completely, and this was what the problem was. Takes barely a minute to do.

The rev counter is driven off the ac side of the alternator. Is the battery charging ok? Check the wire is still attached to the alternator - seems silly but do that. Beyond that its the electronics in the tacho.
