thorn apollo boiler?

IF HEATING (RADIATORS) ARE OFF BUT HOT WATER IS ON AND SOME RADIATORS ARE STILL HEATING UP I WOULD SUGGEST YOU LOOK INTO CHANGING THE CENTRAL HEATING MOTORIZED VALVE IF YOU HAVE ONE

I have a thorn apollo 30/50 an the pilot light is the only thing thats working,about three weeks a pop came from inside i took a look and the surpresser had blown.this as been replaced but still not firing up any ideas

I HAVE A 1987 THORN APOLLO BOILER . WHEN I SWITCH FROM CENTRAL HEATING TO JUST HOT WATER ON THE BOILER SWITCH RADIATORS ARE STILL ON. I HAVE CHANGED THE SWITCH IT IS STILL THE SAME. WORKED FINE LAST YEAR. ANY IDEAS DOES SOMETHING ELSE NEED CHANGING. I HAVE ALL THE MANUALS FOR THE BOILER AND HAVE CHECKED CONTINUITY ON ALL WIRING AS I AM AN ELECTRONIC ENGINEER, HAVE NOT CHECKED THERMOSTATS.

try the thermo i have just re-newd my thermo cost was £12 the heating ect was ok after changing it
(reason for changing it was the heating /hot water was going off after about 1/2 hour )

If pilot light stays on than thermocouple is intact. could be overheat stat on heatexchanger if manual reset not required. or gas valve, you need expert to find fault when boiler cuts out to pinpoint exact fault.

No,its only the thermocouple if the pilot goes out and fails to relight.Could be the room stat if you have one.
