Mend Packard Bell Advent 5431 Works Bought Ago

my cooling fan never works?

i have an advent5431 laptop ,bought new 2 months ago and the cooling fan never comes on even tho it sometimes gets really hot and even closes down if im playing a dvd in it , cant seem to find a way of turning it on,any ideas ?????
