Mend Eurovox PVR Red Display Tv

how do i put a harddrive onto my eurovox pvr?

I followed the very brief instructions to put it in, but now there is a red light which usualy means it's off. but there is also four dashes on the display, but nothing on the tv. if anyone can help it would be very welcome.

i have that box , but i dont have a hardrive for it yet , when you take out the hardrive , will the box com on then ? and are you useing the AV on the tv to look at it . when i start my box up , 4 dashes come up , but after 30sec the box starts up , on AV , mick
