60 in wide screen don't come on?

I have a 60 in magnavox widescreen tv that won't come on when the power button is pushed. I get a green power and that's all. I notice when I plug it in I get a spark from the plug, like something is already on. The model # 9P6040C102 SN# 27976594, Can you help me solve this problem? Thank you.
