One Gang Dimmer?

In my hall i have two light switches at either end of the hall that work the hall lights. One switch is your basic L1 L2 COM which would be easy to put a dimmer on but the other light switch where i actually want to fit the dimmer has at the TOP L1 with a BLUE WIRE & L2 with a YELLOW wire & at the bottom EXACTLY THE SAME SET UP ie there is no COM.
Is it possible to fit the dimmer to this one?

Thanks Amanda

The switch markings you describe with no com are standard for an intermediate switch hence the red
'strapping' wire enabling the lamp to be switched from a third or any number of intermediate positions
The two way dimmer is best fitted in place of an existing two way switch

Hi, only two switches in the hall, the far end switch has the normal set up for a switch ie COM L1 & L2 but the other switch where i want to put the dimmer has only L1 & L2 on the top & L1 & L2 on the bottom both top & bottom wired exactly the same ie with BLUE & YELLOW WIRING, there are no COM conn in this switch. The RED WIRES are in a seperate block connector tucked away.
Thanks Amanda

Is there another (3rd) switch somewhere which operates the hall lights?
You say there's a blue and a yellow wire, what is the red wire doing, and what is in the other L1 and L2 terminals?
Which wires go into which terminals at the other switch?
