just turn all the power off unscrew the cap /lid of the switch, take a look at were the cord goes and replace the cord with a new or a cord that will pull the switch.

Replace the switch with a new one. They are not expensive.
Take a photo of the wires before you undo the wires so you know where to wire up the new switch.
