I cannot wind bobbin. Despite various attempts the bobbin mechanism will not take up the cotton

If it is like the one I just bought, (Futura 2000) the lever you move across the spool has to be about 2/3 over for it to wind on the cotton, but it seems to stick at abou 1/2 way, just needs an extra shove

It sounds like the machine needs retiming, if the machine is missing stitches when you sew that is why it won't wind, is the winder coming up when you press the button? email me below for timing instructions or further help.
