ford escort cabriolet alarm led permanently on?

Hi i have a 1996 escort cabriolet my problem is i lost my keys and had to remove the drivers lock to have another one cut and programmed, i have replaced the lock in the door but there was also a plastic surround with wires coming from it (some sort of lock sensor) i am not sure how to reset this on, another problem is my alarm warning light is permanently on even whilst driving, can anybody help many thanks
