Mend HP Presario 900 Loud Noise Continues

How can I stop the LOUD FAN Noise in Presario 900?

My Presario 900 Makes a terribly loud racket when the fan is running. This continues for a while, then the fan goes off and I can get some relief, until it kicks on again. How can I fix this?
