my 12th and 17th fret eithr dont work or are VERY fuzzy and im constanly hearing this little crackle, except when i turn my tone all the way down. what do i do?
fretwork is best left to a professional , but the crackle on the tone knob can be fixed with circuit (switch) cleaner spray ( from MAPLIN shop ) , DONT squirt WD40 or any other spray into the back of the switch . it could also have a bad earth connection . find someone who has a multimeter to test the circuit.

Sounds like you have a fretwear issue! Either they are too low down into the board or you have the wrong relief on the neck! I's take it to a well known luthier or someone that knows how to do a pro setup for you.
