how can i repair a polti vaporetto 2001r?

If you have a small T20H bit you can use a Dremal or similar to grind a slot in the back of it so any flat screwdriver will work on it. Still works as normal in the holder!

Stanley Fatmax Tamperproof Torx screwdrivers are in stock at B&Q store in Peterborough and possibly at other B&Q branches. The complete range is listed at www.stanleyworks.co.uk. If it is a T20 you require the Stanley reference is 65-396 for Torx tip TT20, recommended price £4.35. I personally have a Polti 2400 and it required a TT10 because the holder of my security bits was of too large a diameter allow the bit to reach two deeply recessed screws. However I was able to use my security bits to ascertain the sizes of the screws and to extract samples to take along to B&Q to ensure I got the correct product.

I also have a Polti 2001R. The Security Torx bit required is a T20H. The only place I've managed to find one is http://dkc1.digikey.com/uk/digihome.html - part No 10715-ND.
The part itself is £2.60 but with handling & shipping costs this amounts to around £25-00.

However, Maplin sell a set of security bits which include a T20H, and a separate 150mm Bit holder. I puchased these, but found I had to grind the bit extension to fit the holes in the Polti. The wall of the bit extension was a bit thin but it worked.
