We are renting a flat with storage heaters. There are 2 switches on the wall, one that provides and instant heat boost and the other maybe to do with the economy 7??? There are input and output controls on the top but no heat seems to come from the heater unless you flick the instant heat switch on which I wouldn't have thought was right!!! Any ideas??
My heater has been working recently until the other morning no heat felt from it. I've just changed the fuse for another on the switch on the wall and as I turned up the output from 1 to 3+ the fan at the bottom of the heater has kicked in and heat is coming out. How can this be if the heater itself had not heated over night? Very confused!
Any assistance to what the problem might be to why the heater in the main has not heated would be very useful

It sounds like your heaters have 2 modes - Econony 7 and Instant, but you can only get one mode to work. I cant really offer any advice but as you are renting the flat so why not ask the landlord or landlady to show you exactly what to do to operate the heating. If they won't or it doesnt work ask for it to be mended or you will withhold their rent money.
