Adjust the lid switch. Sounds like it is only just making contact. If you lower the lis very slowly you should hear when the lid switch clicks. This should be when lid still has about 20mm of travel before being right down. To adjust, lift lid & place hand at right rear of tub through the gap between the drum top ring & the top deck of machine. You should find the out of balance lever. At the top of the lever you will feel a small screw wheel horizintal. Turn it clockwise to increase the gap to 20mm
