need to know how to install idler pulley assembly?

I also would like a diagram on how to install the idler pulley assembly (idler was lying on dryer bottom when I opened cabinet; no orientation that I have tried takes up belt slack and puts pressure on belt)

Have you put the spring on? if yes you should consider that if you have changed the belt you might have the wrong one supplied??

You should be able to slide the idler into place and press down.
