Mend Maytag DE4910ACW Belt Model Replace Find

Replacing maytag dryer belt model DE4910ACW?

There is so much slack when we try to replace the belt. The only instructions we can find are to place the belt around the drum, around the idler pully and motor pully. We can't see anything else we can do to relieve the slack.
