i have no water coming out of hot water downstairs?

If the tap isn't turning as much as it used to and feels stiff to turn then it probably is the tap insert jammed usually with water getting past a seal into places it shouldn't. if so then you can buy new inserts from diy stores cheap-but remember to turn off water to tap if you do the job. alternately you can strip clean and grease with vaseline or similar-but no garantee how long before it goes again.
