Why is my hot water not staying hot?

Just after the water has been heated it is ok but you need to run the tap for a while for it to come through but the water is cold the next day (this has only just started happening in the last week as it used to stay hot) Does anyone have any idea why it isn't staying hot? The boiler we have is a Baxi WM 531RS.
