What can be wrong with my Ford Focus Immobiliser ?

What can be wrong with my Ford Focus immobiliser when i have recently changed the battery and it has made no difference whatsoever, as i Still have to stick the key in and turn it right and then left again just to turn the immobiliser on, instead of just flipping a button
