Mend Briggs & Stratton Motor Clockwise Anti

starter?

My B and S 11 hp tractor starter motor spins clockwise instead of anti clockwise, please, what causes this?

Briggs & Stratton Garden Tools, Lawn Mowers Motor Clockwise Anti

It's impossible for the starter to rotate in rhe wrong direction unless you have connected the battery the wrong way round. If this is the case, the voltage regulator and/or alternator stator will be toast.

Are you sure it's wrong, and it's not just the Bendix drive that's stuck?
