Hoover Soft-wave Auto Wash 1200 door won't open?

This washing machine has been in use for several years but, after completing a wash cycle today, the door wouldn't open. Any ideas?

Hoover Hoover Soft-wave Auto Wash 1200 Household Appliances, Washing Machines Wash Door Open

We have a Hoover Softwave. Sometimes during the spin cycle, the door becomes dislodged. If you push the door in (as if closing it further), this should enable it to properly finish its cycle and the door should then be able to be opened.
