That model number doesn't appear in my B&S engine type listing, so this is the 'generic' answer ....
I suspect there may be a diaphragm type fuel pump in the fuel line. It is vacuum operated, and will have 3 hoses coming out of it - 1 to tank, 1 to carb, and a vacuum pulse line. It's likely the diaphragm is ruptured. Some can be repaired, others need replacing as a unit. Neither is expensive.
If that's NOT the problem, is there an electrical connection to the float chamber on the carb? If so, this is a fuel shut-off solenoid. This can either fail, or gum up, either of which will result in no fuel to the main jet - although the float chamber will still fill.
