why does my kenmore 90 series washer (5 years old) overfill? I have had a repairman out who said he thought it was the transmission and it was too expensive to fix it.
This is the first time I have heard of washer overfilling being a transmission problem. Start your washer filling and then unplug the machine and if it still keeps filling after you unplug it, it's probably the water supply valve which gets sediment built up on it and then can no longer close tightly. This is usually on the cold water side that this happens.
