Mend Singer 834 Sewing Machine Needle Jammed

Singer Stylist 834 sewing machine bought in 1981?

The bobbin-thread gets a jammed and i noticed the feeder foot won't feed the fabric.
I did find tiny piece under the main cover...looks like it holds something in place, must have popped loose.. And now when I sew I hear a banging noise on the round wheel where you manually turn to lift needle.

Hello maggie,
Sounds like you may have broken a gear, take the bottom off the machine and look at the gear under the raceway, if you can get the machine apart look at the top gear also.
