Cash Register XE A-102?

Can anyone out there help me I have a Cash Register Sharp XE A-102 that will not let me ring in on department 1 it display an E and a warning beep.

Mark if you're out there I tried what you suggested but it hasn't worked I would be grateful if you could suggest anything else. Perhaps its me I don't know I have tried everything, we are currently using department 2 to ring sales in.

Thanks

I'm getting your questions just fine, so just keep posting new ones like you've been doing. It's a strange web site, so i don't really know about adding to questions either.

Ok. The status is definitely your problem with departments. that dept with the zeros has been told not to accept any payment at all, so this should sort it.

Turn key to Z/PGM mode

17
X/TM (may be called @/TIME or @/FOR)
Now press the bad dept button
SUBTOTAL

Now turn to REG mode and try it.

Mark I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, I don't know whether I'm supposed to reply by adding an answer or submitting another question, but I'll try this way first.

I know what you mean about the Z reading I already spotted the difference all the other departments read 000017 except for number 1 which shows 000000 I've tried to change it but to no avail. The machine now hates me. I hope you can help.

Ok. We'll try reading the program, then we can see what is different about that dept.

Turn the key to Z/PGM
Press SUBTOTAL.

You should get a printout with each dept at the top (dept 1 to 8 will be listed down the right side). There will be numbers associated with each dept. Tell me what is different about the numbers for dept 1 compared to dept 2,3 etc
