How can I fix my Main Mersey multipoint water heater?

I have an old Main Mersey water heater that has worked well for years
It hasn't been used since January and today I turned the gas back on, lit the pilot, and ran the tap.
It fired up nicely but when I turned the tap off the boiler kept burning!
I turned the main gas tap off, waited a few minutes and tried again. Same thing

got the same problem with mine but when the pilot went out it was still leaking enough gas to stick out my garden the only good thing was my flu was doing its job
please let me no if you managed to get the gas valve or any other parts ok and tell where and whom from

its an older fella, water flow lifts spindle to open gas valve. spindle is stuck due to lack of use. need a registered installer to have a look
