volvo 940 central locking?

my central locking just stopped working it is not the fuse and i can hear a relay either working or trying to work any ideas? volvo 940 gl 1986

my central locking on key phob has not worked for 7 years but yesterday the doors locked and now unable to start .

Could be the relay then. The contacts can get burnt/dirty over time and it may be clicking, but not passing current.
