flashing lights 2 & 4 on my idl40?

I confirm the above diagnosis, had the same issue.
Remove the door panel ( 6 screws on the inside of the door). The thermostat (small white plastic box) to the right of the rinseaid had come loose from the fixing ( not the best design seems to just pop out, probably upon opening the door). Refix the themostat between the tab and against the back door with some of the white thermal grease that should be around the mounting area & secure with a Zip tie.
Wokked for me....Props to Rich.
PS typical 1 month out of warranty issue. Sure some poor guys binned the machine for this 2minute fix.

Hi had this problem, earlier today, removed the front panel, retaining screws, the top few around door, inside the themostat wire had come off the door panel and has previously become disconnected, this has now fixed the problem. Oh by the way, there is a little holder bent in steel on the door panel (silver side)inside to hold the thermostat sensor, it needs to be in here or does not work.
