Why won't the tray of my optical drive open?

The optical drive (LITEON 52X CD-RW & 16X DVD-ROM) won't eject the tray when I push the eject button. I can hear it trying to open (there's a "clunk" sound) but it's as if something is catching in the mechanism(s). Has anyone else exerienced a similar problem, and if so, is it something I can repair myself or will I need to buy a whole new unit? Thanks for any help.

I also find some units are sensitive to which way it is standing. Try lying your computer on its side or standing it up. Just remember to switch it off first before moving the tower.

If u look closely there is a small hole near the button,push a straigtened paperclip through this to open drive,then try opn / close drive normally...it may only need this.
