Mend Volkswagen Mk3 Golf Central Key

What is wrong with my central locking on my Mk3 Golf?

None of the doors lock or unlock when turning the key on the drivers door. There is a pneumatic noise when locking and unlocking the doors.
What could be wrong?

Volkswagen Volkswagen Mk3 Golf Vehicles, Cars Central Golf Key

Sounds like a leak in the central locking vacuum system and as it's all the doors probably very close to the central locking pump!
