i have a r reg combo 1.7 it has had a cold start button fitted near the ignition. when buying the van the seller (a mobile mechanic) told me that every time i start it up i must hold the cold start button in for a few seconds b4 starting it.
this works fine other than in the morning wear it takes far longer.
is this button needed?
if not how can i make starting it easier?
sounds like ur glow plug timer relay was faulty and someone fitted the button u mentioned.it is possible to put back to factory specs but could be expensive not knowing original fault.the button feeds directly to the plugs and will be necessary for cold starting.its a right mechanics trick.
