my drill is working until i grab the chuck. it makes the noise but nothing?

sound like the drills dropped a drive gear. However if it is a two speed unit then force it back and forward between gear one and two and it may engage. Also run the clutch selector up and down through the settings. If no joy then remove the battery and remove the side. Many of these machines have a motor that is slotted into the gearbox it may have unclipped. Do not worry about removing the side as provided you lift the side of carefully nothing should move.
